While best known as one of the destination coffee roasters in the city these days, in my opinion Sey Coffee is best visited at their early weekday opening time of 7am, when the dim light through the skylight gives a moody ambiance that pairs well with the minimalistic menu and austere service. The cold brew is smooth and pairs well with their blood orange cake. If you'd rather go with a more decadent beverage, the mocha has chunks of Rakka chocolate you can taste and is not a bad pick either.

I like the ambiance of this place - it's airy and the wooden furniture complements the natural light that falls through the sunlight. It's busy, but the line moves fast (though tough luck finding a place to sit). It's a bit of a strange contrast because the area outside is pretty quiet, but there are a lot of people in the cafe once you open the door. Drip coffee for about $5 was alright. I'm not a coffee connoisseur so it tasted just like any other coffee - though I'll admit it had a rich flavor and no crazy aftertaste.

Such a great place for coffee especially since they roast their beans in house. A little out of the way from everything else, but it draws a crowd. Seems that they rotate their beans every so often. Iced cappuccino was amazing. The milk they use is oat milk for their drinks. The roast was nice and nutty. Not too acidic. Prices include tax and tip which makes this one of the best and cheapest cups of cappuccinos I've had in NYC.
